Multiplication

Good evening class,
This past week in math class we have been learning how to multiply. Some of you have said that you want some extra practice before the test on Friday. The following website has many different links, which will give a lot of time to brush up on your multiplying two- digit by one digit facts.
Don't forget about the test!

Earth Day

Hello students,
As we talked about in class today, Earth day 2010 is quickly approaching. You all seemed very interested in many of the events that may be taking place on Earth Day. This link will take you to a web page that is full of ideas on how you can do your part on Earth Day.
Enjoy!

Pulleys and Gears

Good Evening Students,
Now that we have finished up our unit on Habitats and Communities we are going to move in a different direction. As we talked about in class one of the expectations for grade four is learning about pulleys and gears. The following link touches on what makes a simple machine and the pulleys and gears that are used. This will be important to know as your final project for this unit is to create a simple machine using both pulleys and gears. Explore this site and write down a few ideas for the machine you would like to create.
Oh, and have FUN!

Habitats and and Communities

Hello grade fours,
I hope you are all having a great weekend. Last week we started our unit on Habitats and Communities. We started this unit by focusing on what a food chain is and what makes something a consumer. I have found a link that relates perfectly to this topic. It is a video that talks about the different parts of a food chain. Watch it and we will review tomorrow in science class.
Take care,
Ms. Lockie

Parent Resources

Dear Parents,

One of the things we at school know is that you might not be sure how and where to use the Internet. To help you learn a little bit about the Internet and its resources follow this link and visit the Media Awareness Network Website. Another site you might wish to visit could be Internet Safety for Parents Website.
